How much does registration cost?

NEW 2013/2014 APPLICATION FORMS AVAILABLE FROM THE OFFICE PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL

International applicants $350.00 in Canadian funds.

Canadian applicants $ 350.00 + applicable tax

** As of January 2013 Ontario Residents are not required to pay a supplemental fee of $100 to support our joint Ontario government regulation submission.New 2013/14 Application forms will be available shortly. Old 2012/13 forms may still be used but please do not include $100.00 supplemental fee.

If your application is received September 1 st to Dec 31st your base fee will be pro rated to $175.00+ tax.Educational upgrade requirements at renewal will also be pro-rated.

Applications received Jan 1 st to March 31st will have their membership extended into the next membership year. Graduates of our approved schools are encouraged to apply within one year of graduation for either ROHP or RNCP designation.Applicants who apply after the one year grace period expires (i.e later than 1 year after graduation)will need to show educational upgrades of 25 hours per year with their application .

A yearly renewal fee and educational upgrading is due on March 31st each year to keep your registration active. We offer a Early discounted renewal fee from March 1 of $285.00 increasing to $350.00 for those members who renew late. A member will be considered expired if their renewal fees are not paid before the AGM.


How do I apply?

Send all of the following to:

  1. A cheque money order or credit card for the membership fee, payable to the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants.
  2. A completed application form for Professional Membership in IONC.
  3. A signed and dated copy of the "ROHP or RNCP Pledge".
  4. One passport sized photo.
  5. Copies of transcripts, photocopies of certificates and any other documentation for your training qualifications.
  6. A cover letter stating why you wish to become registered. (Include any other health support you may provide to your clients and your reasons for doing so.)
  7. Letters from two professional people who would be willing to give you character references. (A professional person could include a lawyer, accountant, teacher, minister, doctor, nurse, chiropractor, manager, etc.)
  8. A curriculum vitae, resume or any other information that may support your application.
  9. AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED You may print a copy of our insurance form from our website. Please only complete once you have an IONC registration # and send back to Partners Indemnity with a separate Cheque payable to Partners Indemnity Insurance Brokers Ltd, If you already have your own liabilty insurance please enclose proof of existing malpractice insurance with your membership application.
The more details you provide, the easier it will be to evaluate your application. Allow four weeks for the evaluation process.

Alberta Residents: If you plan to practice as a nutritional consultant in Alberta, you may not legally refer to yourself using the word "Registered", as it is a protected term under the Health Professions Act. This word has been reserved in the province of Alberta by the HPA for use by Health Professionals specifically identified under the Act. Therefore, to protect our Alberta members, we have opted to drop "Registered" with our Alberta designation (OHP) & (NCP) for the time being. This is an interim action to support our Alberta members as we seek resolution to this situation through the appropriate government representatives.
